View 50,000 snow geese and several thousand white fronted geese landing at the Fort Boise WMA. Milestone hiking and Idaho Hiking Club will also be there.Take a left (westbound) on Old Fort Boise Road north of Parma to the railroad tracks, enter the WMA just past the tracks, we will view the geese a couple hundred yards west of the tracks, do a short hike to the confluence of the Boise and Snake, side trip to see Sandhill cranes at Roswell Marsh is a possibvility.

Hi, I'm new here in Boise and I looked up the address, I'm going but I don't want anyone waiting on me. I am not good with directions and would feel bad for anyone waiting on me. Even though I won't be able to meet up ( next time) I appreciate the invite . Still looking forward to seeing this all unfold, what a great event. Thank you again and have fun! My number is[masked]

OK Susette, I've sent you an email with directions. Repost here if my email doesn't arrive for some reason. Glad you will ride along.

    Room for two more....

If you don't bring lunch, there is a place in Notus called The Garage Cafe with giant hamburgers and breakfast. It is the first business you come to in Notus on the right hand side of the road. It is an old service station converted into a restaurant, and the burgers are the best.

I will take your invitation for a ride Mark, Im not sure where fort Boise is. I live in Boise so is it closer to meet here or in Meridian?

I'm planning to drive and can take up to three others. I'll be leaving from Meridian 8:30 or so, place TBA. Let me know if you are interested and I'll save your place.

Great opportunity. Are we ride sharing? Meeting at a particular place at a particular time to do so?

We are meeting at the Fort Boise WMA at 9:30 am but no need to be punctual on this one, the geese arrive from midmorning to noon.

Cool event! I hope I can go. How much of the day should we set aside? Do we need to bring a chair? Food for lunch? Money?

We will view the geese as they arrive, the big flocks are usually in late morning, then lunch near the Lion's Head monument, a short hike to the confluence of the Boise and Snake, probably about an hour. A side trip to see sandhill cranes at Roswell Marsh is a possibility. Bring a lunch.
