Bob LeBow Boise Cyclists Team

Bob LeBow Charity Ride June 9, 2012

To register: http://www.trhs.org/en-us/eventsmedia/boblebowbiketour/registration.aspx

The Bob LeBow Charity Ride benefits the Terry Reilly Health Services Zero Pay Fund. As a member of Team Boise Cyclists, you can choose from 3,10,25,35,62, and 100 miles rides. All of them take place in Nampa. The 25+mile rides roll on uncrowded rural roads that highlight the beautiful Snake River Plain wine country. The 100 mile ride takes you into Oregon's Jordan Valley before heading back into Idaho! The routes have ample rest stops with snacks and water and are manned at all intersections and along the way with volunteers and easy-to-find signage.

As a team member of Team Boise Cyclists, you will receive a $5 discount for whatever ride you choose! Teams do not need to ride the same route.

The ride prices vary with the distance you decide to ride. All teams and team members must be registered before 5PM on May 25, 2012. Team registration and the corresponding discounts will not be available after this deadline.

To register as a team member and receive the discount, go to http://www.trhs.org/en-us/eventsmedia/boblebowbiketour/registration.aspx, choose your ride, and type in the case sensitive promo code: teamboisecyclists. The promo code pops up after your credit card number is typed in.

For route descriptions click: http://www.trhs.org/enus/eventsmedia/boblebowbiketour/coursedetails.aspx

There are several rides to choose from, please sign up for the rides that interest you. Boise Cyclists members will be responsible for any fees associated with this charity event. Please review the deadline for set-up. For those that want to train for the Metric or Imperial Century rides we will have some longer distance practice rides prior to the event. Please make an effort to take advantage of some of the lesser distance rides also to help condition yourself for a longer ride. Hopefully once our team(s) are formed we can start riding together.

Wonderful to read comments about BLB! Som's reflections are spot on:weather's always a variable but sharing the ride with friends makes everything worthwhile! Neal, doing this with your dad was so cool! Nothin' wrong with fashioning your own version of the 62+ :). Lauree, Congrats on rockin' your first metric century! Thank you, Dan, for chronicling the 62 with great photos! If anyone else has photos from BLB, please add them! Kudos to Paul for keepin' us rolling with rides thruout the year!

While I was unable to ride with Meetup team, I had a wonderful ride with others and appreciated having locals to rely on for alternate routes.

Wet and extremely windy weather--luck of the draw, but the friends are what makes it worth it to push on.

I tried to do the century with my dad. But I Was only able to make it to the marsing pit stop before my legs completly gave out because of the wind and climbing. My dad completed the whole century ride though! I had alot of fun though (the 36 miles that I rode).

Great to share this windy rainy and FUN ride (the sun did come out in Marsing!) with the metric century riders! Thanks, everyone, for making it a great ride. Who knew that peanutbutter on tortillas could taste THAT good!

Great job by all involved. I would assume that many just did not show today, they wimped out because of some wind and water. The ride was capped at 1500 riders, I saw only a couple of hundred different people. Our group was well represented for this good cause. Kudo's to all who pushed their bikes against the wind and rain for hours to the finish line!! Sorry the other groups were not represented with photos from Dan Paulson, if you took some feel free to post them to the site.

It was great to have someone I knew there to keep me going. My first metric and I am glad I didn't wimp out this morning!

It was a fun ride and I had a good time talking to everyone as we rode along. I dropped down to the Metric Century and had a great ride in the rain and wind. Thanks everyone for making this so enjoyable.

Thought of that but we have staggered start times.

  • Debra Henning

Sure you don't want to do the picture before we all get started? We will all probably look (and smell) better lol

  • Paul Zill

I would like to get the whole team together at the end of the day to get a team photo, we will decide on a meet spot on ride day.
