Asha - San Francisco presents two nights of fun - Dandiya Raas 2012
19th October & 3rd November,[masked]pm onwards)
Women's Building, 18th Street

Tickets at http:

Dust off those ethnic clothes and put on your dancing shoes to enjoy a night of non-stop dancing, electrifying energy, bright colors, captivating beats, and, of course, the rhythmic clitter clatter of dandiya sticks.
Dandiya Raas is an ancient, traditional dance form of India performed during Navratri - a nine-day celebration of music and dance to observe the triumph of good over evil.
Come celebrate Navratri with DJ Shem and Asha-SF! The night will end with an all-out bhangra dance party with tunes old and new!
Don't think you can dance?
We have free lessons starting at 8:00 PM if you are novice or just looking to tune your grove. The steps are basic and most people pick up the dance within 30 minutes of the lesson. Find out more about the dance at

Dandiya sticks, food and beverages can be purchased at the venue.
This is Asha-SF annual fundraiser to raise funds for underprivileged children in India. Proceeds from the event benefit various Asha SF projects.
