July discussion: The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

We're giving you plenty of time to read this admittedly long book - so get started early! In The Goldfinch, we'll take a look at tragedy, art, and Park Avenue. A consistently great (if somewhat verbose) author, Donna Tartt is sure to be a hit at this discussion!

Given how nice the weather was for our June book-discussion-and-picnic, we'll try to do another outdoor picnic for July; if the weather for Sunday looks bad, we'll fall back to Andala.  One way or the other, we'll announce the decision here by the previous Wednesday (July 9).

Nice to meet all of you! For those who asked, here are the two books I mentioned: Sarum, by E Rutherfurd, and Creation, by Gore Vidal. Im looking forward to the next meeting.

Sorry about the delay in announcing that! Looks like there's a decent chance of rain on Sunday, so we're going to stick with Andala. I'll send out a proper reminder tomorrow. See you soon!

    Hello Readers,
I am sorry I cannot come tomorrow as planned. I've got to move my mother to her new apartment. Hope to see you next month.
    Cheers,
    Eva

Then you're in luck! The discussion is going to be on the 13th, not tomorrow. Good luck with the move and enjoy the long weekend!

Hi Club - If you would like to borrow The Gold Finch, please shoot me a message. I purchased the actual book and while on route, my library E-book arrived. So, I have the actual book to loan out to any of you who may still be on the dratted wait list. I can get it to you by next Monday.

Whoops. Hit send too soon. I meant to add, you can get a digital copy from the minuteman library. There's a waiting list for that too, but I think it's shorter. That's how I got it anyway.

FYI everyone, this will be moving to July 13th so as to not land on the weekend of the 4th.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
