First Book Club Meeting: Tinkers by Paul Harding

Reading Pulitzer winning "Tinkers" by Paul Harding. Bring a copy if you can since it'll be easy to reference quotes if you want....(oh I'm imagining way too much nerdiness here, right?)

I unfortunately cannot make the meeting on Nov. 18. I'm not sure if this is the way to notify the group? Holly

Hmmm. I read C, E and F. I had a tough time finishing C. My vote is B even though I'm on the Wait List

It took a while for me to remember it but I had just read Gilead and Tinkers reminded me of it. I should have read something light and airy and gone back to Tinkers. Sometimes you pick up a book at the wrong time and it doesn't click.

Ha, Gilead is another one that's on "my" list to read (let's be honest, I'm just not so secretly picking my way through the pulitzer fiction winners). I know what you mean about timing though

I am unable to attend on November 18th at 2pm. I have read "Love in the Time of Cholera" (F) - and would recommend it. Hope I am able to attend next time around. Looking forward to meeting you when I do!

OMG Amor en los tiempos de Cólera!!!! (E).
Sorry Marquez is one of my fav's. I think I can make this. Do we know how long this will be? I sort of have the spartan race at 6 pm.

Think like 2 hours? I love Marquez too, sorry the book didn't win this time! Definitely feel free to re-nominate as a December pick.

Thanks everyone for sending me your votes either by private message, e-mail, or by writing them down below! The book that has won is TINKERS by Paul Harding and again just a reminder that our first meeting is going to be Sunday November 18th with the goal of meeting monthly! Please let me know if you have any questions and I will share the exact address (my bachelorette-pad living room!) with those on the RSVP list before the event. In the future, will look for larger meeting spaces!
