Another wonderful book club success! Thank you all who came for making it such a provocative discussion full of "I didn't notice that! how cool!" moments. Great book to pick apart and the cookies, guacamole, and chips didn't hurt either :-D

I know we've got the book selected for February, but will open the poll for the March pick in a couple of days. Throw any suggestions you have on that thread.

Alright and I'm out - goodnight you princes of Cambridge, you kings of New England...

Any thoughts on where we should hold the meeting?

Let's just do this at my apartment again, eh? Then we can switch it up with different hosts but I think it worked well last time...though if all 35 people actually show up, we're just going to turn it into a party since it will be standing room only at that point lol

POLL OUTCOME: Cloud Atlas tied with 33% of the votes with Love in the Time of Cholera and I just cast the tie-breaking vote for the former. Given that we have an extra amount of time to read because of the holidays, I thought we could push ourselves to be ambitious! Happy reading :-)

Hey, everybody, I forgot to ask if any of you use goodreads.com. I'm at http://www.goodreads.com/matthiasferber if anyone wants to connect there. (My recent history there is sparse, since I've fallen out of the reading habit the last few years, but I've got a really great to-read list!)

I have an account I never use (some members of my NYC bookclub also loved this site) here: http://www.goodreads.... but will definitely check out your recommendations, it's a great site!

I can't seem to view the books we are voting on !

Hey Audrey, I'm going to copy Matthias's link to the poll: http://www.meetup.com... If the link doesn't work, scroll up to the top and under the blue bar with our book club name there is a option to select "More" and then click "Polls" - after that it's easy! OR if all else fails, please tell me which of the following you'd like to read and I'll just add your vote into the mix: Cloud Atlas / How Should a Person Be / The Glass Castle / Room / Love in the Time of Cholera / The Magus / Freedom / Omnivore's Dilemma / Guns, Germs, and Steel / The Blank Slate / The Elegance of the Hedgehog / World War Z

Marianne, mouse over "More" in the blue toolbar at the top and then choose Polls. Or just follow this link. http://www.meetup.com/Book-Club-for-Heartbreaking-Geniuses-and-Those-Who-Love-Them/polls/677072/
