This week I've got a conflict of interest, but fortunately Jan Bear of Market Your Book will be guest hosting on the subject of social media, due to popular request.
We've all heard the success stories about authors using social media to promote their books. They have thousands of followers and millions of likes and people hanging on every tweet.
For most of us, though, if the social media don't come naturally, we need someone to help us figure out how to use them effectively without sucking up all our time to write our books.
This week's Book Marketing Meetup will focus on social media marketing. Jan Bear will give a quick rundown of some best practices for Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest. We'll talk about audience, why the different social media matter, and what it takes to really shine.
We'll then open the discussion for participants to talk about their successes and frustrations using different social media (doesn't have to be limited to those five).
Whether you're a complete beginner or a social media ninja, we'll appreciate your questions and comments. Beginners ask the questions we all wonder about but never get around to finding out. Social media ninjas bring the benefit of their experience.
Let's find out how we can use social media to make our book marketing more successful. See you at the Meetup on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
