Free Lecture with Acclaimed Author & Professor, James Lough

UPDATE: 3:20 p.m. Saturday.

It was just brought to my attention that a recent radio interview incorrectly stated our meetup as beginning at 5:30. We're going to push it back to 5:00 to try to accommodate as many folks as possible. Sorry for Any inconvenience.

For the next Meetup Group (shamelessly sponsored and promoted by The Neo Com Group) we'll have a very special guest from Savannah, Georgia: acclaimed author James Lough.

I've discussed with James the format of our Meetup groups, and he will give a free lecture for hopeful authors on the process of drafting a manuscript, with helpful tips, deadlines, and suggestions for getting out of a creative dry spell. He'll also talk about his own experience working to promote his new release. For more:

The lecture will be followed by a formal reading featuring actor Murri Lazaroff-Babin,an actor known for his role as Sid Vicious, and a Q&A.

About James Lough.

James Lough is the author of the upcoming release: This AIN'T NO HOLIDAY INN: Down and Out in the Chelsea Hotel[masked]. Published by Schaffner Press, this book provides a multi-faceted portrait of NYC's Chelsea Hotel in a unique oral history format which draws together a vast array of creative individuals who made the hotel their home in the 1980's and 1990's. Here are fascinating portraits, from the basement to the penthouses, of its notorious denizens such as Beat poets Gregory Corso and Herbert Huncke, former Andy Warhol star Viva, rockers Johnny Thunders (of the New York Dolls) and Dee-Dee Ramone (the Ramones) as well as lesser-known figures, newly arrived on the scene, eager to make their mark, who found in the Chelsea a home away from home under the watchful eye of Stanley Bard, manager, landlord and "pater familias" to the motley household.
