Dive into the mysteries of Stockholm: The Stockholm Octavo

This time, we will discuss The Stockholm Octavo by Karen Engelmann, a fascinating historical novel set in 18th century Stockholm, full of mysteries, intrigues and real historical figures.

BREAKING NEWS: Karen Engelmann has accepted my invitation and she will join us for half an hour via Skype to tell us more about the book, her sources of inspiration and the creative process.

Michaela has generously invited us to hold the meeting at her apartment in Odenplan, so we can enjoy a quiet background and a good quality internet connection. Thank you Michaela.

YOU MUST THEREFORE CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE TO ME BY SUNDAY MAY 25TH THE LATEST.

Ok, I admit, I love my place! ;-) but it was also lovely to see you all, and a treat to get to talk to KE

Hi Klara, I am so sorry! I didn't see the note about confirming attendance. Is there any room still tonight? My email is [masked]

    Hi,

Is it possible to still join? I thought I RSVPd last week when I signed up for the group, but it looks like I'm not on the list. Please let me know if there is still a place.

I'm going to have to pull out, I've got 3 exams coming up and just can't dedicate the time to reading the book. Really gutted to miss this particular meeting! Hope you all have fun talking to KE.

Hello. I didn't realize that the RSVP deadline already passed. Is it still possible to attend or do I need to wait for the next meeting?

Hey Klara, I thought we might be able to rig something up at my house, but there just isn't enough room. :( But the library idea sounds fine with me!

Hmm.. honestly.. based on past experience.. I would say 7-8 people will actually turn up....

I think even 5-6 would be the most we could do. The library is probably the best option. :)

There is a possibility to rent a room at a public library in Kungsholmen. But they close at 19 so we would need to change the place andtime (like start at 17.30 instead). But I think it would be worth it... don t u think?

Dear friends, I cannot even start to tell you how excited I am! Karen Engelmann accepted today my invitation to join our book club discussion of her book on 26th!! She will join us via Skype. I am now worried about the venue though. It might no longer be appropriate for a good quality Skype call. Any ideas or suggestions of a more quiet place we could meet at? Thanks.

Wow, that's fantastic! I'll have to make sure I read it properly..I can't think of anywhere off the top of my head but will have a think.
