For my birthday month (yes, I take the whole month) I've reached into the archives and pulled a book that one Goodreads user described as "Blade Runner meets Who Framed Roger Rabbit?."
The only thing better than a mystery is a mystery chased down by a hard-boiled detective who doesn't take crap from anyone, and this novel definitely delivers on that front.
From Amazon, a simplistic summary: "While shadowing the wife of an affluent urologist, a hapless private eye falls in love with her. When the doctor turns up dead, the P.I. finds himself caught in a crossfire between the boys from the Inquisitor's Office and gangsters who operate out of the back room of the Fickle Muse."
While this book is full of grisly murder, it's a lot more fun than the past couple of selections.
Available on Amazon used starting at $0.84.
