Gun, with Occasional Music - April Book Club

For my birthday month (yes, I take the whole month) I've reached into the archives and pulled a book that one Goodreads user described as "Blade Runner meets Who Framed Roger Rabbit?."

The only thing better than a mystery is a mystery chased down by a hard-boiled detective who doesn't take crap from anyone, and this novel definitely delivers on that front.

From Amazon, a simplistic summary: "While shadowing the wife of an affluent urologist, a hapless private eye falls in love with her. When the doctor turns up dead, the P.I. finds himself caught in a crossfire between the boys from the Inquisitor's Office and gangsters who operate out of the back room of the Fickle Muse."

While this book is full of grisly murder, it's a lot more fun than the past couple of selections.

Available on Amazon used starting at $0.84.

I'm sorry I have not been able to make it to the meetings, but I have been so busy with APPR paper work and the academic responsibilities at the close of the school year.

Hi all, I'm really sorry but I won't be able to come tonight. I'm having muscle spams in back. I can't wait until next month to meet you all! I'm sorry for canceling. :(

Sorry for the last min cancel :( I was excited to meet everyone and hear what you thought of the book but one of the dogs is sick and I don't want to crate her when she's not feeling well. Looking forward to next month!

Would it be silly for me to come without having read the book? I just joined.

Feel free to come and have a glass of wine, as long as you don't mind having the book potentially spoiler-d! :)

Orphan Train might be a good choice in the near future. Several friends highly recommended the book. I enjoyed the plot line with the elderly lady & teenage girl and learned a great deal about the orphan trains as well. Kindle price was about $6.99.

But if two of us have already read it, might be nice to pick something new instead :)

I had a hard time getting a hold of the book. I requested it at the library, but they never got it to me! Should have just asked you for a copy, Danielle ;) I'll be there next month though!

Will we be meeting at 7:00 or 7:30 in April? Either time is fine with me.

Planning on 7; we did 7:30 this month because Just Vino had a party until then.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
