Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

Hey there,

Here is all the info for the June Meetup.

Oryx and Crake is at once an unforgettable love story and a compelling vision of the future. Snowman, known as Jimmy before mankind was overwhelmed by a plague, is struggling to survive in a world where he may be the last human, and mourning the loss of his best friend, Crake, and the beautiful and elusive Oryx whom they both loved. In search of answers, Snowman embarks on a journey–with the help of the green-eyed Children of Crake–through the lush wilderness that was so recently a great city, until powerful corporations took mankind on an uncontrolled genetic engineering ride. Margaret Atwood projects us into a near future that is both all too familiar and beyond our imagining.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

I am so very upset. Not only do I live down the street but I've read the book. I have a flood in my basement and can't make it tonight. I'll be waiting for a plumber so have fun.

In here early, grabbing some dinner with my husband. Sitting at the first table by the door.

Sorry, guys, I'm going to have to duck out on tonight. We're having some major issues with our house, and things are a mess right now. Have a great time! Eat some chicky nobs for me!

I couldn't get ahold of a copy! Currently reading another M. Atwood title though! :) all of the libraries digital and hard copies were checked out. I am definitively coming next month though. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi! I'm new to the group. I was just wondering what the $2 charge is for? Also, anyone know what the parking situation is at bar? I'm not very familiar with the area. Thanks!

$2 is for the cost to maintain a meetup group. I've never actually been here either, but it's in Malvern, so it's probably ok.

Thanks Matt sorry it took me so long to respond Juillian! I just have to pay a monthly fee to have this group on the website so the $2 covers that. As far as parking there is street parking which should be fine for a tuesday, but also the malvern train station is right up the street and they have free parking. I really hope to see you there!
