2nd Monthly Meetup: Tell the Wolves I'm Home by Carol Brunt

From the Amazon description - "1987. There’s only one person who has ever truly understood fourteen-year-old June Elbus, and that’s her uncle, the renowned painter Finn Weiss. Shy at school and distant from her older sister, June can only be herself in Finn’s company; he is her godfather, confidant, and best friend. So when he dies, far too young, of a mysterious illness her mother can barely speak about, June’s world is turned upside down. But Finn’s death brings a surprise acquaintance into June’s life—someone who will help her to heal, and to question what she thinks she knows about Finn, her family, and even her own heart."

This one might sound familiar to the story we read in March, but there is no cancer in this book at all, I promise.

Really enjoyed the group tonight! Fun conversations....we really should choose books that Steve hates more often :)

Good times. And I didn't hate the book, just thought it highly unrealistic. I'd sooner believe in zombies. :-)

Fantastic group! Mixed feelings on the book itself, but that provided lively (uh, hum...Steve) conversation. :)

I put this book on reserve immediately at my Fair Oaks library, both catalog and e-book, but it looks like I will not be receiving it in time for the meeting. I do not buy a book unless I LOVE it, so reading if first is a must.
