A biography! I argued for David Hasselhoff's autobiography, "Don't Hassel the Hoff" (Link) but sadly I was out voted. So now we will have an evening discussing the life and times of another great man, Sir Winston Churchill.
The chosen book is 'Churchill' by Paul Johnson. (Link) However, this is not the only book that would suffice. Any Churchill biography would suffice. This book at about 200 pages would be a lovely weekend read along with a brandy and crumpets.
A second more thorough book for the more interested or less time challenged has been selected as well. This sucker is over 1,000 pages and has been written by the authority on Churchill, Sir Martin Gilbert. This book, "Churchill. A Life" (Link) would be like the first option on steroids.
Again, any book on Churchill will do, as long as we discuss the man's life, his journeys and experiences, I don't think the source material is critical. Should be an interesting evening.
