This meeting will feature a FREE overview of the Networking for Advancement course at DCCCD that Delores is teaching this fall.

Community Building is the concept all Networking and Social Media Marketing is built upon. Delores will present her wisdom on “Community Building: Social Networking 101". Organically enlarge your personal community, have some laughs with friends and leave uplifted, inspired and informed.

Our presenter, Delores, is inspirational and motivational, from personal experience. She built a second career at age 40+ as a single mom, while dealing with a failing marriage and heavy expenses. She completed college, got her Masters and after that - nothing could stop her! She went into a field she loves - education - but the field is highly competitive. She has now achieved the happy position of being able to do what she loves.

How did she do it? Come and hear her story and be inspired and motivated on Saturday! Delores is very entertaining and has a wealth of info on Community Building and almost any subject. We are very lucky to be able to share her wisdom at Boomer Bardo!

WHY would I want to seek or build COMMUNITY?

* All Social Media Marketing is built upon the concept of Community Building.
* Increased job leads, business opportunities, interpersonal interactions and friendships.
* Self-development, self-empowerment and increased sense of personal security from the deep sense of ‘belonging’ that true Community creates.
* Hope and altruistic joy from being of help to others.
* Because a community of empowering and sincerely helpful individuals is greater than any one of its parts.

Delores is Inspirational and likes to laugh a lot; she is a motivational, highly informational and also a healing presence. She is very entertaining and has a wealth of info on Community Building and almost any subject. We are very lucky to be able to share her wisdom at Boomer Bardo!

As an active Boomer flourishing in a second career, Delores Elder-Jones has received awards many times during her career in education as Community Builder and Educator. She has been honored for her work as a community activist, civil rights worker, entertainment industry worker, housing advocate, educator and volunteer, as well as a loving mother and sister.

Delores says: "Working at Richland College and watching all the staff and students interact in an environment that is conducive to teaching, learning, and community building is the most enjoyable place a person can be in this time of my life. We have a multicultural staff and student body. There are over 120 different ethnicities and 90 languages spoken on this campus. We have achieved the honor and recognition of being the first community college to win the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award. So, check us out! www.richlandcollege.edu "

We'll be rockin', groovin' and networking with outstanding DFW area Boomers while getting some very useful info for Boomers in the 21st century. BE THERE and be informed, inspired, meet new friends and have a few free laughs with us! Because a laugh a day does a body good.

Delores is a remarkable individual with resiliency! At 60+ (and looking not a day over 40!), she has certainly had her share of what might be called difficult circumstances. She not only bounced back but thrived. She is very motivating, inspiring and funny. And Delores is a Social Networking Ninja. Hearing the story of how she went from the Tonsorial Consultant with the Isaac Hayes tour - to Head of Wardrobe on the tour - was very humorous. And inspiring! After Delores took charge of Wardrobe, Isaac won Best Dressed Man of the Year. Her motivational presentation was the high point of my month!
