Experience Level: You’ll need a beginner’s knowledge of how to use your camera phone and be able to use the built-in camera application to take a photograph and share it with a friend.

The goal of this workshop is to help you the photographer—regardless of your skill level—understand the important issues, capabilities and constraints in shooting with your camera phone so that you can make pleasing, artistic images.

More often than not, the best camera that you can use is the one hanging on your hip.  But at its best, a camera phone is a compromise.  It must be both an acceptable camera AND a usable telephone. Did you know, however, that ALL cameras are compromises?  Or that a good photographer can make an excellent image with just about any camera so long as he understands the capabilities and constraints of the equipment he has in his hands?

Fun and interesting. A lot of the things Mike talked about could be applied to any artistic endeavor. And the iPhone instruction was amazing.

Great class! As Michael taught us today, the best camera is the one you have your hand. Also learned about some cool new apps.
