Georgia Aquarium Outing

  • Aug 17, 2013 · 7:45 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

We will be able to enter one hour before the doors open to the public and we can use a tripod.  After the first hour we will need to take our tripods to our cars and re-enter the Aquarium.

We need to purchase a ticket in advance, online or have an annual pass. When you purchase your ticket make a reservation for 11am dolphin show which is included in cost of ticket.

We will meet at the front entrance to the Aquarium by 7:45.  Don't be late or you'll get left behind!

You need to sign-up for this outing by sending an email to John Mariana at [masked]. We need to  know the number of attendees so that we can make appropriate arrangements with the GA Aquarium.

To purchase a ticket online go to http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/
Click on the “PURCHASE TICKETS” tab at the center top of the screen.  Click on the Buy Tickets button of the first offering.  Click the Skip This for the login.  Then follow the prompts to purchase a ticket and schedule the Dolphin Show at 11:00 am.  The ticket for an adult is $34.95 and $30.95 for a Senior Adult. After purchasing the ticket you will receive an email with the ticket attached.

Print the ticket and bring it with you on August 17.

Wow I am very impressed with the images I see posted from The BPG trip to the Georgia Aquarium!!! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with everyone Tuesday night and Saturday morning! Even more rewarding has been all of the positive comments and the enjoyment of seeing all of those beautiful images!!!!

I hate that my wife and I were unable to attend (family medical issue)... I hope we will have this opportunity again sometime in the future.

Louie - in all the last minute changes we didn't learn if your family member is 'ok'. Those situations are always un-nerving, aren't they. Hopefully you can make it to the Aquarium to practice what you learned at the meeting on Tues night....just don't go on a Sat or Sunday if you're hoping to get close to the glass to photograph!

Hey Lynn, right now it is a wait-and-see situation. The doctors are starting chemo tomorrow in hopes of shrinking the grapefruit-sized tumor... Needless to say, it was an emotional weekend.

This was such a fabulous experience. My husband and I throughly enjoyed being in the aquarium before the doors opened to the public. Thank you so much, Marvin, for this opportunity and for taking time out of your busy schedule to help us.

Yes, thank you for this amazing opportunity! One of the things I noted during that special hour - aside from plenty of elbow room to enjoy and photograph the tanks - was the musical accompaniment in the various galleries that was lost in the buzz of patrons once the doors opened. Sad, really, that people miss out on the complete sensory experience! Thank you for coordinating this.

Outstanding. Our privileged access was key. After the regular Saturday crowd arrived photographing the exhibits was all but impossible. We owe a debt of gratitude to Marvin Price. It continued to provide some great people-watching opportunities, however.

Thank you Marvin for a wonderful and challenging experience. Arriving early and your instruction of where to shoot first, was very helpful. It was a great outing!

This was a very special outing! Thanks, Marvin for travelling to Cartersville Tuesday night to teach us the tricks to make the best of this incredible resource. And thanks for meeting us at 7:45 in the morning, on your Saturday, to let us in ahead of the crowd.

Excellent! Having access to the Aquarium an hour before the public is a huge opportunity for photogrpahers. Also, access to the private ballroom with the wall of glass containing the belugas. 29 photographers in BPG + lots of help from the more experienced photographers. Fascinating.

Having access to the Georgia Aquarium without the crowds is definitely the way to go. Looking forward to processing the photos to see if I got anything exceptional. Thanks to Marvin for this unique opportunity.

Having seen Marvin Price's presentation last Tuesday, I know this outing is going to be a great learning experience. I've always wanted to do something like this with somebody that is knowledgeable in this field of photography. Also looking forward to meeting other fellow members. Thank you BPG and thank you Mr. Price.

This sounds like a great outing, but I have a major conflict that day and cannot participate. Looking forward to seeing lots of great shots from the people who do go.
