Welcome to the Booth Photography Guild! An overwhelming response to the Booth Museum's recent photography exhibitions led to the creation of the Booth Photography Guild (BPG). An extensive exhibit of Yellowstone National Park photography by nationally-renowned photographer Tom Murphy in 2010, and the 2011 six-month exhibit of Ansel Adams' original works have generated more awareness of Booth Museum among photographers. The 2016 Ansel Adams: Before and After exhibit attendance set an all-time high.
Organized by local and Atlanta photographers and sponsored by Booth Museum, BPG offers educational opportunities and programming related to photography. The Guild is open to anyone interested in photography, regardless of their skill level.
The Guild meets monthly with a rotating schedule of quarterly educational programming: a speaker, a critique of member images, and Learning Sessions. Members may participate in an annual fall juried exhibit at the Museum, a spring juried exhibit at the Downtown Gallery, organized field trips and photography outings, as well as classes and workshops at the Museum. Special Interest Groups (SIGs) meet on Saturday mornings.
BPG is intended for photographers of all levels and experience so as to master their skills while networking with other photographers. Guests are invited to attend. Meetings are from 7 - 9 pm on the second Tuesday of each month in the Bergman Theatre or the Ballroom inside the Booth Western Art Museum.
Membership in the BPG is $24 per year in addition to a Booth membership. For more information, contact Liz Gentry at 770 387-1300 ext 7235, or visit boothmuseum.org and click "Learn."
