Drinky and Discuss "The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum" by Heinrich Boll

Part mystery, part confession, this German novel from 1975 is all about the evils of sensationalism and female exploitation. It is also going to be AWESOME. "In an era in which journalists will stop at nothing to break a story, Henrich Böll's The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum has taken on heightened relevance."

Remember, if you don't finish the book, you WILL be punished. We will be meeting up at my house again since that actually worked out pretty well, and I have couches. It's BYOB and please call me if you have any questions about directions! My number is[masked]-1732.

This was an excellent discussion. The questions were well thought out and moved the discussion along nicely!

It's looking like I may get stuck working late. Grrrr...I need the down time! And I was so proud of myself for reading the book and everything and actually making the plans to get there! I will update the RSVP if it starts looking too dicey and I need to do next time instead. :-/

I've almost finished the book! I can't wait to meet all of you and drink and discuss. The book has taken longer to finish than expected because I've done a wee bit of drinking while reading! :-)

Sunday, I have a conflict; the earliest I can arrive is ~8.
Don't know how long these literary libations last, but if there's no objection, I'd happily arrive awkwardly.

If anyone else is trying to get this book, here's an online pdf link: http://ptchanculto.binhoster.co...

It doesn't open well on handheld devices, but it'll open on a pc/mac.
