DFW Area Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Dog Meetup Group Message Board › Beautiful Bella - Female Red Tri - Aussie- up for Adoption.
Some of you in the group may already know her (Bella). She has been the love of my life, but unfortunately cannot keep her in our pack due to a new addition (read: baby). I know, I know, please, before you pass judgement about another owner giving away a dog once the baby is born, I have another dog that we are electing to keep. Trust me, this is a gut wrenching decision, and we love her to death. But, it is just not worth the risk, based on what we know. It is a risk we cannot take, plain and simple. End of discussion.
All of this being said, please understand she was a rescue that I have had in my home for the past 2.5 years. She will ONLY go to a loving home and we are going to be very selective in this process. Please do not respond to me with hate mail, etc.. It's a hard enough decision already. If you think you can be a postive factor and HELP in the situation, or know someone who may fit the bill to be the proud owner of Bella, please let me know.
SO....... Guess who needs your help? ;)
Here's the criteria we came up with:
1) NO other dogs. - That being said, she has successfully been to MANY of these, our very own Meetup groups without incident. She does better in a large group. Let it be known, if there are other dogs involved in a 1 on 1 situation (sharing a home with), it might not be pretty for awhile. That being said, she has learned to co-exist very well with my 10 year old lab. If someone REALLY knows the breed and has a stable pack and is willing to work with her, knowing the issues, I'm all ears.
2) No kids (not that anything has ever happened with kids, she's generally good with people, but god forbid).
3) Room to run / excercise.
4) Understands the breed.
5) Responsible for Understanding she is not to be woken up / taken by suprise (especially when sleeping).
6) Will love her like crazy, as we have.
We can pretty much hold out until we have the perfect situation for her, but the sooner the better.
I am giving this group the first chance to please help out. I know many of you and who better than a group of Aussie lovers?
If not you, who do you know? She deserves a wonderful home.
Please email me if you think you can help.
