Hello Fellow Philosophers and Curious Inquirers of all kinds!
Welcome to the Boston Applied Philosophy Society, a philosophy discussion group for oft-questioned but little-discussed social questions.
Thank you for taking the leap to start questioning and seeking the answers to the often unshared commentary that goes on between our ears that has yet to be heard!
If you are looking for friendly individuals with similar interests and a burning desire to be a part of a social, intellectually stimulating environment, this is it! The Boston Applied Philosophy Society is a friendly setting for sharing one's ideas and expressing oneself through discussion among other fair-minded individuals. If you are such, come join us!
We provide a forum for friendly discussion on a wide variety of topics that affect people in society. A discussion topic will be presented weekly, along with the text of several philosophers (quoted in the Meetup description or with associated links). The associated text or links provide the context in which these subjects may be discussed, in addition to providing our own personal commentary on the subject.
Topics may touch on subjects of science, philosophy, history, politics, economics, literature, the arts, etc. Members may consider the topic within the context of well-known thinkers, philosophers, scientists, economists, artists, etc., as well as sharing their own wonderful ideas!
Members can reflect on the topic before meeting, and if so energized and intrigued by it, prepare a writing, essay, artwork, or other expression of one's ideas for contribution to the discussion.
Above all, the Boston Applied Philosophy Society is a member run organization, and I urge all to share ideas and engage freely in conversation. Hope to see you at the next Meetup!
