Sail on the Charles III (weekday edition)

For those people who can get out of work a bit early, and get to Community Boating by 5:30 or so, we can go sailing on weekdays.

If people are up for it, we can then go for dinner or beers some place nearby afterwards. Sail from 5:30-7:30 or so, then dinner/beers.

    All,

These are the strongest winds I've seen this season so far. This should be a lot of fun.

    1) if you do not know how to swim, I do not recommend coming sailing with us today.

    2) wear stuff you don't mind getting wet.

    3) can one of you bring some bits of string? Something like a couple of few inch pieces of shoe lace will do. I'd like to fly my Jolly Roger ensign today. :D

UPDATE: boat house is not letting Sonars go out, winds are too strong for it. We are restricted to R19s, which are slightly smaller boats that can only take 7 people. RSVP is now limited to 7 people.

Holy COW the wind is STRONG today. This is going to be exciting, boats are going to be capsizing all over the place.

I can't do the sailing but may be able to meet up afterward. Please let us know where you're all headed afterward for beer and drinks and such.

We'll decide while sailing. Give me a call at[masked] afterwards. We'll probably be done by 7:30.

Please try to show up by 5:30, sharp.

Transportation: Red line to Charles/MGH station. If you drive, you can park at the New England Eye and Ear Infirmary parking lot. Bring your parking ticket and I can have it validated for you ($7 for the rest of the day).

What to wear/bring: we might get splashed with some Charles river water, so wear stuff you don't mind getting a little dirty. Sunblock, hats. A padlock if you want to leave some of your stuff in one of the day lockers.

Once you get to the boathouse: I should be there before any of you, but in case you can't find me, ask at the front desk for a guest waiver form, and fill it out. Ask for a guest card as well. You all need to fill one out, and get a card, so you might as well get it done even if I'm not there.

Then, if you know your way around the boathouse, go get yourself a life jacket. If not, just wait for me/the rest of the group on the dock.

My # is[masked], if you need to reach me.
