Please note: since the boats have to be back at the boathouse about 30 minutes before sundown, and sundown occurs earlier this time of year, I've changed the time to 5:00 instead of 5:30. So to make this, you will have to leave work early.
The plan: Meet at Community Boating at 5:00 and sail til about 6:30 or so. If people are up for it we can go grab dinner/beers nearby afterwards.
Best way to get to CBI is to get off at the Charles/MGH T station (red line). Once you're out of the T station, look for the foot bridge to the left of the Longfellow bridge, that takes you over Storrow Drive and to the Esplanade. The boat house is right by the foot bridge.
Please bear in mind this is around rush hour, so traffic will be terrible. And parking is problematic in the area as well (although you can park at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary parking lot, and I can get your parking ticket validated for $7. However the entrance to this lot is not easy to find if it's your first time, and if you miss it, you'll easily lose 15+ minutes). So please be sure you can get there on time.
If your situation changes, and you can't make it, please update your RSVP to "no" as soon as possible.
If this is your first time at Community Boating, ask for a guest waiver form at the front desk and fill it out. You should also ask for a guest card.
If you've been to CBI before, bring your guest card. It's $5 to get a replacement card, if you don't bring it.
Sailing sometimes involves getting splashed with water, so you want to wear something you don't mind getting a bit of Charles river water on.
They have day lockers. Bring a lock if you want to use one.
