Taza Chocolate Factory Tour

Ever wondered how chocolate gets from those ungainly pods to delicious bars? We're going to find out.

The Taza Chocolate Factory Store is an innovative, educational space where you can learn about and experience chocolate from bean to bar. The Factory Store features ten 4 by 5 foot picture windows looking directly into our manufacturing facility, giving you a close up view of our chocolate making machines.

I'm working with Taza to make sure we have someone there to talk us through the whole process of chocolate making and answer our questions. Want to join us?

IMPORTANT: Apologies! I neglected to note that the tour costs $5 per person. I'm working with Taza to see how to best arrange payment. I'll let you know as soon as that's settled.

UPDATE: Thanks to Nancy, we're going to go to Taza on Groupons. That means that it only costs $4 per person. I'm going to set up a PayPal payment system so everyone pays me back before the session. That way, we don't have to deal with money at the factory. Also, I want to make sure I don't end up putting out the money and then having people forget to show up.

sorry I missed it and Max Brenner sounds great; hope I can make it. As you walk around, stop in Hotel Chocolat. It's a chocolate shop from the UK and they fly them in but very fresh, the staff is very kind and knowledgable and chocolate is delicious!

I signed up and purchased a ticket but have now had something come up and will no longer be able to attend. Anyone who wants my ticket is welcome to have it!

Hi Jess. Check out the link to the map above. It'll show you right where we're meeting.

I attended a tour at Taza a while ago. It was worthwhile.

You're right, everyone. It's the 24th, not this weekend. I got carried away thinking about chocolate and wishful thinking got me focused on this weekend instead. Now to find some chocolate to distract me until our tour...yum...

Very excited about our chocolate tour this weekend! If you haven't yet paid for your ticket via PayPal, please do so. The reason for the payment is that we needed to reserve our spaces on the tour in advance. I went ahead and did this for the group so we wouldn't get shut out. It's only $4 since I scored Groupons for us. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

There's a chance I won't be able to make this event, so I'm going to say "maybe" for now.

Good eye, Nancy! I'll buy the groupons for all of us. I think that will be easier since the groupon is for 2 people and we'll have to coordinate who's pairing with whom. Better for me to get for eight and then everyone pay me back.

    There's a Groupon available:

Lechmere Station and Central Square Station are each a one-mile walk, depending which color line is more convenient for you. There are also seven(!) bus lines that pass closer than that. I like to use http://www.mbta.com/rider_tools... to scope out T possibilities near a destination.

I will probably walk from Central if anyone wants to meet at the station and head over together.

Roberta-I called and there's a parking lot right across the street from them.

Another prior commitment means I can't attend. I am crushed as this sounded so wonderful.
