Monthly Clojure Meetup

* Stephen Compall will talking about and leading a discussion on some of the issues with Clojure's loop and recur special forms.

* Tim McCormack will be talking about Swearjure, a Clojure subset with no alpha-numerics (with which you can do a lot more than you might imagine...).

Call Reid at [masked] if you're having trouble getting in the building. There should also be a note with instructions by the door.

Me and my wife Domiziana would like to thanks everyone. Sorry if I had to leave the meetup after the nice presentation on the bas side of loop/recur. This has been my very first Clojure Meetup ever and I really enjoy it. Next week I should have the opportunity to be in NYC and I'll try to attend their clojure meetup too. Hope to be able to setup soon something similar in Milan (Italy). If everyone of you is going to italy, let me know. I'll try my best to give something back.

My best to all of you

    Mimmo

Great camaraderie and plenty of parenthesis to go around. A great time discussing how to make Clojure better (fixing loop/recur) and worse (Swearjure!). Thanks to those who presented!

Do we need a pin to get in to the building or take the elevator?

You'll just need to call up on the keypad and I'll unlock it. Otherwise, call me [masked] and I'll head right down

Anyone interested in giving a talk/lightning talk next week?

May I propose a slightly more civilized version of a rant I've delivered on #clojure a couple times: "Why loop/recur is the worst part of Clojure, and what can be done about it." This would be a somewhat unstructured, but full non-lightning talk.

Yes, that sounds great. Could be fun to try and see how we'd have change code for Clojure when porting from a TCO'd lang.
