The National Sand Sculpting Festival is celebrating its 10th year and attracts between 300,000-500,000 people from all over New England to see master sand-sculptors from all over the world competing for tens of thousands in prizes. The awards ceremony on Saturday night is capped off with a fireworks extravaganza. The main centerpiece sculpting begins before the individual completion between 10-15 master sculptors begins. Last year’s centerpiece sculpture was a 20 foot tall tribute to Fenway Park’s 100 years. The event also includes live music and a gourmet food truck festival.
It says that the event runs from July 19-21 and the award ceremony is on Saturday Night.
So, let's be there on Saturday afternoon and enjoy the amazing sculptures :-)
Let's all meet outside the Revere Beach T stop at 1:00 pm and move as a group :-)
Note: Parking will be very tough that weekend at the beach. If you are planning to drive, note that you might have to look for parking for a while.
If you are taking T, it is at "Revere Beach" stop on Blue Line.
