Yoga & Meditation (FREE)@ MIT

I love to try different kinds of yoga and let's try this pranayama yoga at MIT 24-121, 11-12:15 am. "The Art of Living at MIT offers free yoga and meditation sessions every Saturday at 11am. The sessions generally begins with a dance-warmup, followed by sun salutations, yoga in the lotus sequence, pranayama and meditation." They also sometimes feature fun mindfulness games from the YesPlus workshop

How to get to MIT[masked]: Find 50 Vassar St -> enter the building 34 through revolving door -> you see the door in front of you and go outside to the courtyard -> turn right along the building and pass bike racks/trees/courtyard closed sign on your left-> the door for building 24 is kind of hidden inward  on your left (follow the red line above - there are other doors for B24) -> go upstairs and room[masked] is on the second floor.  i try to put several signs when I get there on Sat morning.  Due to construction, it may not be easy to find the Building 24 once you get lost - ask anybody there for Building 24.  See you there!

The nearest station is Kenmore station or Central Sq. - probably about a 12 min. walk from either station. If you are driving you may find meter parking along Mass Ave towards Central Sq.

Open to: the general public

    Hi folks,
I pasted an elegantly hand-written map of how to get to MIT 24-121. Please study the map carefully as it may take ages to find the place if you get lost due to the construction around there. Bring your own yoga mat, if you have one. See you all there at MIT 11am in the Saturday morning.

Sorry I had a conflict and cannot attend on Saturday. Very sorry. Looks like Brian is next on the list. Maybe he can take my place. Thanks. I hope I can make it to another one.

If you would like to join, Kishor is doing free yoga/Meditation tomorrow, Sat Aug 23 as well. Just find the room at MIT somehow individually.

Kishor said he prefers if you can bring your own yoga mat - but you can do it on the floor carpet if you do not bring a mat. He also said use 50 Vasser St. entrance for Building 34 and find the back room. I will check the room later as it sounds a bit complicated. TBA later. The room can take up to around 20 people.

Mariko, how many people can go to this at a time? I wonder if I can invite more friends.

Do we need to bring our own yoga mat?

I had to look up this style of yoga. Here's something interesting I found.
Pran is a subtle invisible force (high valence ion charged oxygenated air air) is the life-force that pervades the body. It is the factor that connects the body and the mind, because it is connected on one side with the body and on the other side with the mind. It is the connecting link between the body and the mind. The body and the mind have no direct connection. They are connected through Pran only.

I have some experience w/ Hatha Yoga but am recovering from a wrist and elbow injury, I'll need some modifications which any well trained instructor should be able to provide.

Hi Hiro san, there should not be any problems for the beginners, I think (like any Yoga classes I attended). But if you would like to make sure contact Kishor.

I have a minimal experience for yoga. Beginners welcome?
