Join the Arlington International Film Festival on Friday, October 19th at the Regent Theater.

6:00pm SUDDENLY ZINAT directed by Navid Nikkhah Azad. Simin’s world is turned upside down when the biological mother of her daughter wants her back.(21 mins). Next, RACING THE REZ directed by Brian Truglio (59 mins). The film follows Navajo and Hopi runners from two rival high schools cross country teams in northern Arizona who are fighting for a state championship. Panel Discussion with director and Christopher McDougall, Author of Born to Run.

8:45pm MY SO-CALLED ENEMY directed by Lisa Gossels (89 mins). In July 2002, twenty-two Palestinian, Israeli and PalestinianIsraeli teenage girls traveled to the United States to participate in a program called Building Bridges for Peace. The film is the story of six of the girls and how the transformative experience of knowing their “enemies” meets with the realities of their lives at home in the Middle East over the next seven years. Q&A with director.

Join for both sessions or just one. Host will reserve general seating area and depending on group interest, suggest a bar to grab drinks after the last show.

Tickets $11 per session (if you were to attend both 6 & 8:45 sessions - $22). Alternatively, buy a festival pass for all five days for $45.
