Certified Copy, French film, staring Juliette Binoche (2011) at the MFA

Dear Boston Culture Lover,

Lets enjoy a French film at that MFA!

The film starts at 8pm, I suggest that people meet much earlier and hang out at the Taste Cafe and Wine Bar inside the museum on Level 1.  Please let me know if you are able to meet early before the film.

I will confirm details as we get closer to date.

Here some details for the film.

Certified Copy by Abbas Kiarostami (2011, 106 min.). Juliette Binoche won Best Actress in Cannes for her performance in this playful and provocative romantic drama from legendary auteur Abbas Kiarostami. Elle (Binoche) attends a lecture by a British author (opera star William Shimell) on authenticity and fakery in art. Afterward, she invites him to tour the countryside, during which he is mistaken for her husband. They play along with this misconception, acting like a long-married couple. But is there more to their seemingly new relationship than meets the eye?

I'm sorry I missed the socializing event prior to the movie. Definitely not a great movie, but we couldn't have known that. Thank you Joana for organizing this.

This was definitely not my favorite. The scenery was indeed beautiful. I was annoyed all through out the film, maybe it was the intent of the film. It was a heavy topic. Felt forced to witness long winded bickering between two people who may or may not be a married couple. However, I was happy to experience a different type of film.

Joana, I apologize but I am stuck at work. I think I'll make it to the movie but I may not make it in time to meet you at 7:15. If I don't find you and you decide to go out afterward, could you text or call me at [masked]? Could someone reply if you see this and tell Joana in case she doesn't see it? Sorry, I don't mean to be so difficult. Karen

When I got my ticket it was $8 for nonmembers with a $1 fee. I would be open to meeting before the movie, or after, or both. Depends on energy level that night.

I could meet before, rather than after.
Got ticket. Cost $11 or $9 for members.
    Perhaps $1 Was typo!

Depending on people's energy after the film, we could go to Pizzeira Unos after the film. Or if anyone has any other suggestions for a post-film gathering place, let me know.
