Boston Dogs Organization is the play-date, playgroup, reference section, dog and owner communication portal, extension of its nonprofit Boston Dogs Organization nonprofit 501(c)(3) pending.
Our parent nonprofit specializes several PROACTIVE approaches to helping and keeping dogs out of a shelter/pound: We train and certify Service Animals, Therapy Dogs, Emotional Support Animals; We provide unique, holistic, in environment, individualized training; Perform surrender interventions; Are trainers of "Last Resort," Advocate politically on a local, state, and Federal level; Facilitate rescue transportation and placements; work with other canine nonprofits and advocates throughout the US and beyond including the Animal Rescue League of Boston, the ASPCA, Project Pawsitive, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, metro Boston area hospitals, and 2000+ more smaller nonprofits and canine advocates.
To date, We have rescued and/or trained over 450+ dogs from LA to Portland, OR, to Quebec City, QC, to Puerto Rico to the South and Midwestern US. We helped spearheaded the first criminal devocalization Bill in the USA "Logan's Law" and passed it 155 - 1 by the MA legislature and signed by Governor Patrick in April 2010. We have helped secure more off leash dog ares including the Boston Common, Peters Park, and on leash approved areas like the Fells, Beaches, and State Parks, etc. We have trained dogs that were to be surrender to be euthanized, We have Certified and trained numerous Service, Therapy, and Emotional Support Animals now working in the community and have been named the Largest Canine Specific Nonprofit in NE.
This group also serves to connect all the Boston and New England based nonprofit as well as altruistic Dog lovers and donors; whether you volunteer once per week at a shelter, utilize social media, transport, your professional skill sets, foster a dog waiting for a home, or would like to sit on our Board of Directors, we want your participation and this is an outlet for you. Anyone wishing to lead a Meetup please email the Leadership Team. We welcome new ideas and assistance. or participate in the larger nonprofit organization. We never charge for any Meetup (which to facilitate require money for Meetup dues, GoDaddy, internet costs; and more importantly 471+ rescues, trainings, advocacy, transport, food, shelter, surrender interventions, and Service, Therapy, and ESA Certifications,) but members are welcome to donate a small amount - anything you choose - (we recommend $5 to $10) via secure Chip In button, administered by WePay (tax deductible) and will receive both a instant receipt and tax deductible receipt in 14 days.
