Join us for our first event on October 27, 2009 at Vlora Restaurant, 545 Boylston st, Boston from 7-9pm. We will feature a music panel discussion that will explore key issues in the music industry today including how to build and market an image, legal issues, artist development, marketing, websites, and synchronization licensure for film and tv placements of music and the explosive growth of music in the mobile space. Key panelists will include Shannon Jamieson, entertainment attorney, Vice President of Exemplar Law Partners, LLC, Executive Producer Evan Shapiro (credits include the song Gonna Be being the licensed theme song for the pilot TV show Pop School which was made for the Oxygen Network), Scott Feldman, Marketing Consultant, Recent Clients: MyPunchbowl.com, Berklee College of Music, Boston Rock Academy, The Hector Fund. Scott also worked in the past as the Director Of Media Relations for Rock.com and worked at Infinity Broadcasting as Producer/Promotions coordinator of “The Big Mattress” with Charles Laquidara- one of Boston’s longest running morning shows. Casey Jones, VP of Business Development for Mocospace will discuss the current trends in the music industry in relationship to the rapidly growing mobile area. Mocospace is the largest mobile social network in the US with over 6 million registered users and over 1 billion page views per month. The major record label Def Jam is among the labels that have partnered with Mocospace. Ron Ranere, photographer and owner of Positive Image Photography will discuss the important role that photography plays in developing a musician's image. This will be further demonstrated by photoshoots with three models-Linnea, Becca, and Heather. Admission is free. Preregistration is required in order to attend.
We will discuss the planning of a fashion show and video which will involve more than just fashion creativity.
We plan on interviewing the models involved with the event about perfectionism and introducing some of the concepts of Positive Psychology- a well respected and fast growing area of modern psychology. We will discuss the details. There will also be time to network. This promises to be a very exciting and unique meetup!
