Role Summary:
The Web Front End Developer is responsible for designing, styling, and theming the web experience for NPR Digital Services’ suite of web applications. As part of the NPR Digital Services Technology Group, the Web Front End Developer will focus on our Content Management System, additional Editorial Tools, an online audio player, and mobile websites. He/she will participate in an Agile Scrum team along with developers, UX experts, designers, and QA engineers.
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of HTML and CSS, as well as extensive knowledge of Javascript and jQuery. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a collaborative design environment that includes User Experience experts and graphic designers.
The Technology group of NPR Digital Services builds and maintains a set of Java and PHP-based web products used by public media member stations to deploy websites that host local and national news and arts stories, as well as other media content such as music, blogs, podcasts, videos, and rich media.
