Boston Hardware Startup Meetup #8

  • March 5, 2014 · 6:00 PM

Hello Hardwarians!

We're back with another round of companies for you!

It's all about the teams, so each month we have 3 hardware startups present. They have time to pitch, ask questions, and hopefully demo.  This month's meetup will be located at Bolt in Downtown Crossing.

Also, there will b a 2 day hardware workshop March 28th and 29th at Bolt for HW Startup founders and employees. See here for more info

Our startup, VECARIUS, is developing a thermo-mechanical device to improve energy efficiency of vehicles . . . and we're growing our team. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer with expertise in engineering design and simulation and high-fidelity prototype fabrication and testing, involving heat transfer, fluids, mechanics, and materials. If you or anyone else may be interested, please contact me, Steve Casey, [masked]

Thanks Ben/Bolt as always for setting this up (and psyched to see the ReFresh pitch from Sean). Wanted to mention for folks attending that MassChallenge (from which we at Bounce Imaging are proud alumns) and Lightspeed Mfg are teaming up this year to significantly expand the hardware offerings for startups at MassChallenge. Pretty sweet deal (equity free!) for hardware startups (wish we had had it our year!), and I can chat with any groups interested about our experience at MC/ advice on applying since I think applications are due in a few weeks...

Looks like I'm on the wait list. I'm new to the group. Laufer Wind is hiring for MEs to contribute to our prototyping efforts- we're building a magnetron-based radar capable of Doppler processing, for initial deployment in the wind energy industry. Our engineering facility is in Bedford, NH.

If anyone has any projects that they'd like to work on potential press coverage this year, throw them my way! I work for DigBoston on the side and am currently scouting projects to feature in the new tech section we will have after the relaunch.

Hey Leanne- Love to chat about this more. Ping me at [masked]!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
