Lawrence of Arabia at the Coolidge on Monday, July 8

I've never seen this movie and this is my chance.  Maybe yours too. It's a digital remaster so I expect it to be as stunning as when it was first released. It's 3 hours and 36 minutes long, so I doubt that we'll go out after.  But we can group on the street and chat when the movie's over.  Before, I'll be at Panera starting at 6:00 for anyone who wants to get a bite.  Here's the synopsis from the Coolidge's web site:

Based on the life and exploits of T.E. Lawrence (played immaculately by newcomer Peter O'Toole) during World War I, Lawrence of Arabia is ultimately a meditation on the meaning of war and freedom. Lawrence, a misfit British Army lieutenant, is sent to assist Arab Prince Faisal (Alec Guinness) in his revolt against the Turks. As he develops a kinship with Price Faisal and the plight of the Arab National Council, he soon becomes a military leader for the guerrilla attacks against Turkish targets and a beloved iconoclast.

Last words:  Peter O'Toole is no longer a newcomer and times have changed.  It will be interesting to see this for the changed historical perspective also.

Sorry I can't make it - long drive home from 4th of July weekend, and I can't imagine sitting down all night. See you another time.
