Harvard Film Archive is screening Rosselini's film "Voyage in Italy" on Wed. 10/21 at 7:00 pm. It sounds like a great film and I'm planning to go - if anyone is interested and would like meet there, email me or post a reply to this msg. Since it's free I assume it will "sell out" so am planning to go early to be sure of getting a seat.

I might be down for this. I saw it at the harvard film archive last year and enjoyed it and its free, so I might be down again. I usually go to the free VES screenings there and I've never had a problem getting a seat, but you might want to go early just in case.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the reply. It helps to hear from someone who has actually seen the film and liked it. I've also had a couple of email replies, so three or four of us will likely be going (so far). My thinking was meet at the Carpenter Center at 6:30 or so, just so we can get seats together, but we can talk about that. Lisa |

Great! I'm still unsure if I'll be able to go, but if I can I'll just look for you guys there.

Hi LIsa,
Would really like to see this but worknight events are iffy for me at best. I'll let you know sometime during Tuesday afternoon. |

UPDATE - I plan to be at the Carpenter Center at 6:40, will wait inside at the top of the stairs that lead down to the theater, for any folks who want meet there, if you come after 6:40 and don't see me look for us inside. We can try to save a seat for anyone I know for sure is coming, but no promises if a big crowd turns out. We will be observing Dave's Rule for Optimal HFA Viewing: sitting on the left toward the back, so as not to be at a weird angle to the screen.
The film is slightly less than 90 minutes, so if anyone wants to grab a quick something afterwards and talk about the film, we can. Edited by Lisa Ly on Oct 19, 2009 9:28 AM |
