Teaching Abroad 101

Have you ever wanted to spend time traveling? Are you looking for ways to go abroad while still doing something fulfilling? Then come join Boston International Volunteers and Abroad101 to learn about teaching abroad opportunities! The workshop will cover strategies for selecting a program, how to best prepare and what to expect while you are teaching abroad. Teaching abroad is a great way to immerse yourself in a foreign culture while still gaining valuable professional experience. Abroad101 is the largest reviewer of study abroad programs and was founded in 2007.  Hope everyone can make it!

Thanks to those who came out to the Teaching Abroad101 Workshop the other night! It was great to meet you all and HI Boston is such a cool space! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about teaching abroad, specifically in Thailand! Also, don't forget to check out the scholarships for a TEFL certification, the deadline to apply is November 20th: http://www.studyabroad101.com/scholarships/tefl-institute

Best of luck to you all in your teach abroad adventures! :)

Hi, I'm thinking about attending. However, I will be coming up from the South Shore and I'm wondering if there is an end time for this event or if it is open ended.

You can definitely come up from the South Shore although the event will probably be wrapping up around 7:30. Some of us may be going out to Jacob Wirth after the event, in which case, you'd get a chance to chat with some volunteers. Hopefully that helps!
