Learn How to Make, Market and Publish YOUR Own Book!

According to USA Today, 82% of all Americans want to write a book!

Join Bruce Jones, author of 14 books, as he takes us through his process to research, develop, publish and market your book.  Bruce will demonstrate the processes and the systems needed to produce and successfully market your book.

Internet Marketing has turned the book publishing world on it's head.  Gone are the days of needing a traditional publishing partner - you can now do it yourself and more profitably at that!  Find out how the new online technologies allow for effective self-publishing.

Bruce will show you:

  • How to set up your platform
  • Do the research
  • Where to publish
  • How market your book.

We'll also do the usual networking and Q&A, plus we're working on a great food & refreshment plan thanks to our sponsors.

Stay tuned for updates ~ we're looking forward to another fun, informative session.

Excellent event, generous help and information provided by Bruce Jones, Lew and Keith. Pizza and soda, too. Tons of information backed up by handouts and internet resources. Now to upload that book.

I had attended the June 29th version of this presentation, which was great,
but found this one full of great new information and strategies, from nuts-and-bolts
state-of-the-art techniques, to cutting-edge new websites and services.
The presenters took almost a full hour at the end to all questions completely,
before a group of us headed for a trendy bar in Kendell Square for a
brainstorming session that was out of this world.

Great! I like the idea of splitting a 300 page book into 6 books of 50 pages each. I had heard of selling 'reports' that were 30 pages but didn't think of just doing that with the entire book instead.
Also thanks for mentioning the marketing book, Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs Brian Halligan (Author), Dharmesh Shah

there's also an interesting and timely article in Xconomy about publishing and aggregation. You can find it here: http://www.xconomy.com/national/2012/03/02/how-zite%e2%80%99s-news-app-altered-the-zeitgeist-in-personalized-publishing/

(sorry meetup doesn't allow a live link in the comments section so you'll have to cut and paste to get there.)

Congratulations on these fantastic results, Maria! Thank you for sharing them here. I'm now really looking forward to the publishing meeting.
I created a 'chapbook' based on a five-year diary written in a RI mill town during the 1930s. It's a family archive now, both special and quite personal, and I'm weighing pros and cons of publishing it.

Maria. You are terrific. Thanks for sharing your results with everyone in the group. We've all watched you meeting by meeting add to your skill set and really DO something very positive for your business. Your feedback is Much appreciated! Portland is wonderful in the summer. (today might be a different story unless you snow shoe or ski)

This REALLY works! I wrote&published my book last year and have started getting speaking gigs! Have spoken at travel conferences and vegetarian groups and am scheduled to speak at this summer's Portland, Maine VegFest! FYI. I was even contacted by a tv exec who said that he is giving my book to a tv/movie celeb as a gift!
