**NEW** Ideation & Innovation Session

We like breaking our 2 hour meetups into chapters to keep the blood pumping and engagement high.  Sitting through demos for two hours can be a lot.  SO, by member demand, we'll be doing a 30 min group breakout session with the purpose to stir our creative juices around a common problem in the music industry. We'll break into groups of (4) and each will propose a solution using technology, focusing big picture on the Why's, How's, and What's. Given the diversity of talent among this group I don't doubt that new startup opportunities couldn't result from this session.

It will be super fun, low stress, and you'll really get to know members of our awesome group.

A little bit of a late reply due to a busy summer session at Plugged In. Tom and I had a wonderful time at the meetup and are looking forward to the next one on September 11th!

The brainstorming session was a fun challenge. It was great to hear several startup pitches too and just feel the energy in the room about new ways of enjoying music. Hope to meet more of you in the future.

Glad you found the ideation session challenging and fun Ann! I'm going to continue keeping a chapter of each meetup reserved for something "like" that but a bit different each time to keep things fresh. See you next time!

the ideation session was brilliant and worked well. One of the next topics for ideation could be on what to do with all the ideas.

Last night's meeting was an excellent mix of networking, learning about new products and industry discussion. The energy and creativity of the group was as inspiring as it was welcoming. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this meetup, but really enjoyed it, especially the brainstorming session at the beginning. I'd definitely like to do that again at future meetups.

Great job organizing everything, Dave! I had a blast at the event. As a musician, I was worried that discussion may be over my head, but I felt that the group's diversity made for a very comfortable setting. Loved the brainstorming session.

.As a lawyer, I don't usually get to have this much fun in the music industry. I LOVED it. Being able to collab w/ music professionals that know completely different aspects of the industry than I do was super refreshing! I will definitely attend again, and I would love to see the group stay multi-faceted as far as our roles. I think we can learn a lot from one another and may the music industry better

David is great. The first 20 minutes of ideation was a cool idea. I like how David had a plan and really forced people to talk and there were some really cool ideas generated.

We had a multi-chaptered evening which people really enjoyed. A little bit of everything for everyone. The ideation session got the blood flowing and started the evening with engagement. Then after some VERY creative pitches (of ideas that only took 20 minutes to cook!) everyone got to lean-back and watch some very cool product demos with a healthy amount of Q&A in between.

Great event, and it was good to meet everyone.

In the first hour creative "2 word" breakout session around aspects of music-fans-etc. which led to several fully baked ideas. A couple of them seemed promising enough that I would collaborate. In the 2nd hour we saw product demos from some existing companies. Really interesting and fun crowd.

Yeah, it's a myopic move. Youtube, P2P sites, etc, all have the album still. Doing this only hurts Yorke's fans. Read the blog post Bob Lefsetz wrote on this today. http://lefsetz.com/wo...

In fact, the Leftsetz Letter is something everybody in this group should subscribe to. Long time music lawyer who rants and raves about the state of the industry - some opinions are off mark but most are spot on and extremely relevant to TRUTH and the way the winds are shifting in this crazy ecosystem. http://lefsetz.com/wo...
