Sheep School (New Entry Sustainable Farming Project)

This hands-on field school will teach practical skills for raising sheep including:

Managing meat and wool enterprises;
Sheep health;
Handling and facilities;
Feed and pasture management;
Breeding programs;
Hoof trimming, vaccination and other hands-on skills

… and lots more. Participants will have the chance to get some quality hands-on time with the sheep, so wear your barn clothes!

Registration required: $40 per person registration includes lunch and resource materials. (You may add up to 3 additional registrants from the same farm or organization at $35/ea.)

    If you're interested in small ruminants as part of your homesteading plans/dreams, this is a great way to gain some experience. I'm a little more inclined towards dairy goats, but figure most of the concepts here are transferable. Also, NESFP's website is having issues. It's mirrored here on the Tufts website:
