Advanced Realtime Tracking is the world’s leading manufacturer of optical tracking systems for Virtual Reality (VR) in industrial applications. In addition, ART provides solutions for industrial measurement, medical applications and Motion Capture for ergonomics. ART also offers a variety of unique custom tracked input devices, such as our Flystick and Fingertracking products which have been specifically designed to optimize navigation and interaction with the major VR software applications. ART also provides the world’s only dedicated solution for unobtrusive optical tracking inside multi-sided projection systems.
At VR Meetup we will show the SMARTTRACK, a fully integrated solution for tracking systems up to 8ft, and ARTTRACK5, our high-end solution for large tracking volumes. Furthermore, a prototype for finger tracking with vibro-tactile feedback will be demonstrated.

We regret to inform you that our presenter from Advanced Realtime Tracking has come down with a severe illness and won't be able to present at the meetup tonight. We'll work on getting ART rescheduled for a future meetup. Jerry Heneghan will do an extended presentation on his work in medical virtual reality at UNC with extra time for Q&A. Jono Forbes will also have a special announcement about joining the Unity team to work on building VR from within VR! There will be plenty of VR demos to try including some brand new demonstrations that have never been shown before! If you'd still like to change your mind about coming tonight send us a message and we'll refund your ticket; otherwise rest assured that Boston VR is a non-profit organization and your contribution will go towards making tonight's meetup, and our future meetups, great! We hope to see you tonight!

Looking forward to this. Also, just wanted to mention that if you're perhaps coming late to the meetup + then State Park, you can get a parking validation for the One Kendall Square Garage on Binney St. at State Park. The validation is 4 hours for $5.00 if you enter the garage after 5:00pm, however if you stay longer than 4 hours, you pay the regular rates posted at the garage instead.

Hi Folks, someone sent me this link to a beautiful live face mapping performance and I thought I'd share:

Not exactly VR, but there are tracking elements to the performance. Enjoy.

Thought this would be a good place to share a VR project I'm working on - as I'm looking for someone with experience in filmmaking, as well as film/troubleshooting/stitching together content using a freedom360 rig! The project includes a trip to film in Morocco - more details to come. I'm happy to share information about the project with anyone who may be interested, experienced and enthusiastic about immersive filmmaking! Please feel free to shoot me a message, and I look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks.
