I took badminton in college, as a physical education elective, thinking that I played tennis and so could pick up badminton. I came to find that the game was quite different, but quickly fell in love with the sport. As mentioned in my introduction, I later coached high school badminton, but could never find in places I have lived, a group or league to play in. I had pretty much given up the idea that I might play badminton again, when I found your group. In badminton I love the many challenges including: anticipating opponents shots, employing various strategies and tactics to keep the other side guessing, mixing up the tempo, improving one's instict and reaction time, increasing my stamina, and while I have to admit that I enjoy competition, I'm in it first for the fun; especially in doubles, as I enjoy teaming.
No, in moving from Dallas to Boston, alot was left behind.
I will never get back to where I was in college, but when the rust wears off, and instincts, form, and court sense return, I would be a fairly good player.
No, I have been playing tennis.
Hi, I'm Neil and recently moved to Boston. I played badminton in college, and coached a H.S. school team, but could never find a place for me to play. So, when I learned of your group, I dropped everything, to write and ask if I might join you.
