Why are you joining the Boston Area Beekeepers Association?

I went to a life-changing honey-making workshop last fall at Wave Hill in the Bronx. I had a chance to speak to an experienced beekeeper, ask questions, and learn about bees. I have been hooked ever since.

Do you know anything about Beekeeping? If so, please describe experience:

See above. I learned a lot at a honey-making workshop, and I participated in harvesting the honey. I have done some reading about beekeeping as well.

Do you have a place where you can keep bees?

No, but I am happy to travel to work with other members and their bees.

Are you interested in helping to create an active bee community in Boston?

Absolutely. I would like to develop a community of bee advocates in Boston. Also, I am an elementary teacher and hope to incorporate my interest in bees and the environment into the classroom.

Do you have any good honey recipes to share?

Of course!

I just moved back to Boston after living in NYC for a few years. I participated in urban community gardening in Brooklyn and I am generally interested in a sustainable lifestyle.
