18 Mile suburban-style biking through an urban area. This loop is a good ride to know for those living in these cities who want to know quick workout rides. It's hard to find good biking route loops in this urban area.
The ride goes through Saugus, Revere, Malden, Melrose, and Wakefield. It includes mostly bike-friendly streets with wide, marked shoulders. Other roads are reasonably bike-friendly with enough room not to battle with traffic. Optionally for those with hybrid and mountain bikes, it can also include the gravel bike paths of the Northern Strand Community Trail in Saugus and in Malden, which are separate paths right now.
