Yes, sorry - I sold out of my allotment weeks ago.  However, I suggest you check with the Mariners box office and see if there are any tickets available in Section 144 for the August 4 game.  While you might not be right next to the group, you’ll at least be near us.   If I hear of anyone needing to sell their tickets, I’ll be happy to post a notice here for you all.

I do plan to have a pre-game gathering/Jimmy Fund benefit before the game on August 4.  It’ll probably be at 88 Keys on 2nd Ave. from 4pm to 6:30pm (that’s where we had it last year).  But I’ll send out a notice in July to confirm that.

It’s that time of the year again for me to send out my announcement about our annual group gathering at Safeco Field for the upcoming Red Sox/Mariners series!  There will be only one 4-game series in Seattle for the Sox this year (Monday August 1 to Thursday August 4).  As usual, I am planning for a formal Boston Fan Group gathering on one of the days - specifically Thursday August 4 (although like most of you, I hope to attend all 4 games).  I have currently reserved 200 tickets in Section 144 (which is a little closer to 3rd Base than where we were last year).  This is a very significant game as it will be David Ortiz’ last game at Safeco Field before his retirement.  So let’s all help give Big Papi a lot of loud cheers and a nice memory of his final game in Seattle!  Further details are below:    

 

Thursday August 4  (Section 144 (lower level left field/3rd Base line) Rows 26 to 35) - $40 each (approximately a $4 to $7 savings from the individual ticket price plus you get to sit with Sox fans!)

 

As I have every year, I intend to sell these tickets to Red Sox fans only (so we'll all be among friends).  For those of you who have been part of this before, you well know how fun it is to be sitting at a game in Seattle with a big group of fellow Sox fans surrounding you.  For those of you who are new or haven't had a chance to join us before, we are a very fun group that is often well heard on local Seattle game broadcasts cheering on our team.  We definitely bring a bit of Fenway to Safeco. :)

Please keep in mind that we are a very respectful bunch.  Only twice in the over 10 years of gatherings have we had a fellow fan make trouble.  Our reputation with the folks at Safeco is stellar and I aim to keep it that way.  If anybody in our group really gets out of line, members of the group will probably help security remove a person. ;)  You're all nice folks so I trust that won't happen.  But I have to mention issues like this in these announcements from time to time.  I appreciate you all keeping this in mind.

This will be the 13th season for our group gatherings at Safeco!  Each year I've had all tickets reserved fairly quickly.  So please get your orders in as soon as you can.

 

READ CAREFULLY -

Tickets are first come – first serve.  Email me directly at [address removed] with the number of tickets you want to reserve for this game along with your mailing address.  I will send you back a confirmation email shortly after with the final total you'll owe along with where you should send payment to (please make checks out to Christopher Porter).  Then you'll have until Monday March 16 to send me full payment (check, cashier's check, or money order is acceptable.  I can also accept PayPal via my email address).  If I don't receive payment by March 31, your reservation will be cancelled and the tickets will be put back on sale to the group.  I expect to get the tickets in hand by mid or late-April.  I'll send them out to all of you soon after - aiming for you to have them in your hands by sometime in May.

 

Important Note! - In the past some of you have made requests to sit next to or near certain people.  I will try my best to accommodate these requests, but I am not able to make any guarantees.  If sitting with certain people is particularly important, you should coordinate your order with them and get the tickets all together in one order. 

Another Important Note! - Please don't overextend yourselves when reserving.  When you make a reservation, know that you can use the tickets.  Cancellations understandably happen from time to time, but I can get left "holding the bag" when someone goes MIA on me, comes back to me and asks for less tickets, is late with payment, etc.  Please keep in mind that a lot of coordination, time, and effort go into this and that I'm a one-man operation.  If you do find later that you can't use a ticket that you have, we of course have quite a large network of fans here and it's very likely you'd be able to find a buyer from one of our groups. 

And lastly – please feel free to forward this announcement to other Red Sox fans you know of that might not be on either Seattle sports fan list or anybody you know that's planning to travel to Seattle for this series.  We always love welcoming new faces to our crew in left field. :)

So come and get them folks!  As every season – I very much look forward to spending some great time at the ballpark with the great Red Sox fans of the Northwest!
