Boston Traders' Meetup Group Meeting 2nd Wednesday at 6 PM in Cambridge

Boston Traders' Meetup

You are invited to attend the monthly Boston Traders' Meetup meetings.

The format for the monthly meetings is that each person will introduce her- or himself and state the market that he or she trades and perhaps a very brief description of the approach taken. For example, an introduction could be, "Hi, my name is Fred Hampton and I trade forex breakouts during the London session."

From there, the floor is open for people to discuss anything about trading. You may talk about something you learned recently about trading or about an obstacle that you are facing in trading or make a request for resources from other members.

If someone would like to discuss his or her own trading system for 15 minutes, that can be scheduled with Robert "Bob" Todino, the current local group organizer. Bob can be emailed via his meetup page here:

www.meetup.com/BostonTraders/members/[masked]/

Part of the purpose of this group is for people to connect with other traders so it's encouraged for people to exchange contact info. If you are an options trader and another options trader talks about a topic that interests you, then feel free to ask the person if she or he would like to exchange contact info.

--------------------

This meeting is located in the Starbucks inside what is called the "Boston Marriott" even though it's located in Kendall Square, Cambridge. The Kendall Square subway stop is a Red Line stop at "Kendall."

This meeting is FREE and it repeats on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

I am happy to host such a meeting here in Reading. I have 3000 square feet and .75 acre. The commuter rail is 2000 ft from my house. I would much rather grill and have a few beers than sip coffee in the evening.

So nice of you to offer Eric. I would be happy to bring some cold beers.

Eric, We could hold 2 events per month with one being in Reading and the other being in the Boston/Cambridge area. I've just emailed Tom Connors about same.

too hard to find which starbucks it was if one didn't know the area. we only had 4 guys. thought there'd be ten.

Maybe it is possible to make it explicit that it is not in the Starbucks at the corner of Broadway and Ames or otherwise extend the directions. It is a little hard to find for many people. (The SB app does not make it any easier). Or we could meet at the other SB?

Hi Maarten, If you can find another better venue, please suggest it. I'm open.

Agree with Maarten the SBUX near the Residence Inn is larger and more conducive to a meeting. Outside patio too! There were 5 of us in total by the time I found anyone. First timer.

Sorry, can't make it again. I work a lot of evenings. Any chance we could meet Mondays, or first Wednesdays of the month? Traded since 1998. Back in the day I use to be a big player making 9% a month for 3 years. Love using algorithms and computers. Would love to meet with people who use the same.

I would attend if we weren't meeting in that cramped Starbucks. Are we able to get a room at MIT like IB? Is there more structure to these meetings?

    July 4, 2013

    • Maarten

I agree with Patrick that it would be helpful to have a space more suited for a group meeting. If we have someone that works at MIT a room there might be an option. Also libraries often have rooms that can be reserved. Otherwise even the other SB (corner of Ames & Broadway) has more space IIRC.

My name is Eric. I'm eager to meet other day traders and talk to people who understand what a strange career it is that we have https://twitter.com/DayTrader33
