First Thursday Meetup

Back by popular demand, we will be meeting again at the BST. You may want to bring an itty-bitty book lite, not for bed time stories, but to better see your music. Come early to enjoy the sumptuous menu. Stay late to keep the party going. Food service will also be available inside the Nite Cap Lounge, but there will be limited table space to make more room for ukes and uke playing.

Join or login to comment.

I'd be psyched to play "Yer So Bad" by Tom Petty after hearing this cute recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8iBs-q9bXM

Maybe something by Pearl Jam would sort of go with the Pearl Harbor theme? http://www.npr.org/2011/06/05/136649054/first-listen-eddie-vedder-ukulele-songs

Any chance of playing Arlo Guthrie's City of New Orleans? or Friday I'm in Love by The Cure?

    1 · December 3, 2012

  • Paula Van G.

    Suggestion:

If anyone is enthusiatic about a particular song, then find the chords and volunteer to lead it (or get some strum buddy support if you can't do it alone).

We get some of the best songs from members. Our "club favorites" and Daily Ukulele offerings can always use a shake up. So jump in!!!

    Keep those suggestions coming.

Anybody want to volunteer to lead a song?

    December 3, 2012

  • Linda C.

any wwII songs? Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy looks doable. Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree, I'll Be Home For Christmas, When The Lights Go on Again (all over the world), also: sea cruise, anchors away, harbor lights

Very excited for a very Pearl Harbory Krampunsnacht! Setting that theme option aside, let me know if you have any song requests. I'll get a list out ahead of time, so get your suggestions to me by Tuesday, Dec. 4, 10:00am

    Break out the schnaps!

Hi everyone. I'm trying to arrange to attend. How is parking? Anything garages close? Street parking?
    Thanks, Art

    November 18, 2012

    • Neal C.

I had no issue, there was sufficient on-street parking last month within a block. You might want to arrive at least 20 minutes early to find parking.
