So I caught this group back in February on reputation alone, when they performed at The Sinclair in Harvard Square, and I proceeded to have my mind blown. They do a superb fusion of Bhangra with New-Orleans style jazz, resulting in a non-stop dance party!
Lots of advance notice on this one, but the show is that good :) The February show in my opinion was the best live show I've seen all year, so this is bound to be a great one!
Listen to some of Red Baraat live here:
I have checked the latest schedule, and Red Baraat's show starts at 6:15pm, and not 8pm. There is also another show at 9:30pm starring Angelique Kidjo. Here is a description of Angelique's music:
"Grammy Award-winner Angelique Kidjo's music spans a diverse array of influences including Afropop, Caribbean zouk, Congolese rumba, jazz, gospel, and Latin styles as well as contemporary America artists like James Brown, Nina Simone, and more."

So I don't know about anyone else, but I think I'm staying around for that 9:30pm show! :)
All shows before 10:30pm are free
There is also an After Dark event containing all of the Saturday acts at the Westin Hotel at 10:30pm. Unfortunately the After Dark event is not free like the earlier events (Tix are $65 for the After Dark event)
