See info below from Jacques, with music samples.

"Atlas Soul is a multiple awards winning band performing original music that celebrate and blend spicy hot Afro-Mediterranean melodies/grooves with a generous dose of jazz, rock and funk!  They are awesome.

Burning live performances is their trade mark! ☺
They have played countless major venues such as The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, The Festival International de Louisiane, the Boston Globe jazz Festival etc. They regularly sell out shows in the Boston area and beyond.

Atlas Soul sings in French, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew and English, making it a truly cross-cultural-music-experience. The lyrics speak of love, ecology, oppression, happiness, immigration, poverty, spicy food... ☺

Their motto is world-music-for-world-peace.

Philosophically and politically, Atlas Soul hopes to inspire world peace through a fusion of music and culture that gets people to the dance floor.

Thank-you! You made it happen!

Atlas Soul: Gypsy Wind 4 song CD

Gypsy Wind won the Independent Music Awards "Vox Pol" in 2 categories: world
music EP and Funk/Fusion/Jam song with "It won't Take Long" (composed by Perry
Bakalos and Regie Gibson).

We want to thank-you and give you a link to a free download that includes all the
tunes from "Gypsy Wind" and "Live @ the Regattabar" Here!

And Here is a link to download it from our store at CD Baby if you would rather insist on supporting us with a little cash! :)"

Changed my yes to no but it is really a "maybe." Someone slashed my car tire which for a few reasons may translate into my change in plans. Karen, I'll let you know this afternoon.

Karen, I would like to attend. I've been to the Acton Café before and it's a nice venue. As well, I've not been to an Atlas Soul gig for forever it seems. I'm in. Since I live in the South Shore, I need to think about how to work out my travel plans to meet you. Also, the food is great at the Café. Would you consider going early and eating a meal? Let's talk. The irony is that I'll be in Acton that night...but with family. :( Truly bummed to miss what seems to be the last World Music event to happen while I'm still living in Boston (moving next week)!

That's too bad. If there's anyway that you could duck away for a couple hours, even bring some of your family, come. They were so good last weekend.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
