Earthsound CD release at Ryles June 24th 9 PM

I'm very pleased to invite you to the release party for Earthsound's debut CD, Movement, which will take place Wednesday, June 24, 9 PM, at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge as part of the World Wednesdays series. The CD has been a ton of work, but fun and well worth it. Movement features a great mix of music including original jazz, music from Brazil, Peru, and Armenia as well as improvised pieces with environmental sounds from Antarctica, Costa Rica and other locales. Some of you caught my interview with Eric Jackson on WGBH on June 9th where we played some tunes from the CD and talked about the group. For the CD release party, I'm also thrilled to have guest vocalist Vaughnette Bigford from Trinidad sit in with the group. She is fantastic! I met her last summer here in Boston and was really impressed with her singing.

Earthsound features myself on bass, Fernando Brandão on flute, Nando Michelin on piano, and Jorge Perez-Albela on drums. You'll be sure to enjoy hearing these musicians perform as much as I have enjoyed working with them!
