Annual Boston Uncorked Holiday Wine Soirée in Back Bay!

  • Dec 18, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

SOLD OUT! there may be tickets at the door, check with Boston Uncorked directly.

Let's get dressed up and celebrate the holiday season at Boston Uncorked's annual Holiday Wine Soirée at the College Club in Back Bay near the public garden.

The party includes a walk around tasting featuring an array of hors d' oeuvres prepared by the new culinary team at The College Club to accompany the list of wines assembled by Boston Uncorked.

I've been to this event twice and always had a good time. The setting is traditional Boston Brahman brown stone, the food varied and the wines interesting. Towards the end of the evening, something special always seems to get poured. :)

Price: $45 / person (click here to book)

NOTE: you must book with Boston Uncorked to reserve your spot for this event -- RVSPing to this meetup does NOT book your spot. Either click on the link above or go to this URL to pay:

Terrific event and lots of friendly folks. Thanks Jim & Anthony for arranging. I did like the pinot grigio rose sparkling. Happy holidays to all.

Very nice. Sorry some of you got caught in traffic getting there. I had a rich late harvest Porto, but the surprise of the evening were the sparkling wines: the standout the Italian method champenoise Pinot gregio rose. Good representation from our group--sorry I didn't get to say hi to all of you. Some of us had more food and wine afterwards at Bin 26 Enoteca which was fun.

A great night, great people and some pretty good wine, particularly the Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache (Australia).
My thanks go to the organizers.

Linda, good use of the comment section! I checked one last time with Boston Uncorked, and unfortunately they are indeed sold out. Hey, I warned you all, right? But if anyone does have last minute change of plans, please do post here or contact others via meetup email. Caution, not a good idea to post your contact info in a comment or a meetup greeting since its public.

HEADS UP! Boston Uncorked event is close to sold out. Jump on it today if you haven't done so already. If you miss it, please update your RSVP here to NO.

Hi everyone. We're a week away from the holiday party, so if you haven't purchased your tickets, it's time to get moving, update your RSVP here too so I know how many to expect from our group.

I'll be there with a plus one and we have our tickets. It's going to be my first meetup with you guys, looking forward to meeting you.

Sorry that I have not been to a meet-up with you all in a few months. I was the victim of a hit 'n run crossing the street , near my home, on my way home from work in mid-October. I suffered a broken leg, which is healing very well. Just got my cast taken off this week and am wearing a boot and am no longer on crutches! However I am still in a recovery mode and will not be able to join you this time. I will be back as soon as I am able. So take care and I'll catch up with you soon. Meredith

Is this event just for the Meetup group or will others (Uncorked members) be there as well?

    December 4, 2013

    • Jim F.

this is a Boston Uncorked event, so other folks will be there, propbably[masked] people.

      December 4, 2013

  • Jim F.

Hey everyone. Just exchanged emails with Jay @ Boston Uncorked. Many of you haven't booked with them so don't delay if you want to attend. RSVPs here do NOT reserve you a spot--follow the link to their web site to pay. As I said in the event post, this event usually sells out, so don't expect to walk in the day of (even if you are wearing a tux!?)

    December 3, 2013

  • Ini T.

Hi folks, I was already attending this event when I received the Boston Wine group meetup and RSVP'd yes. But the Boston Uncorked website says wear festive holiday attire not semi-formal. In the photo gallery from last year, there are women wearing both cocktail dresses and pants with holiday tops and men dressed with jackets and ties, just jackets or just shirts. I don't think a tux is needed, though it is nice to dress up a little for the holidays.

    December 2, 2013

    • Jim F.

Hi Ini. Yes, there is a lot of leeway about what to wear, from tux to , cocktail dresses, suits, sports jackets, etc. Jeans probably not advised, but I'm sure anything "dressy" will work. The term "semi-formal" appears to be almost meaningless at this point, so I updated the dress suggestions above.

  • Karen

I'll be out of town that week, have a great time everyone.

    December 2, 2013

  • Mattias J.

Question about the level of the dress code for this event: I saw the description 'semi-formal' which, traditionally speaking, refers to tuxedo for men (black tie, as opposed to formal white tie with tails), but is sometimes used to describe something less formal than that (suit, or perhaps just jacket required). Could you expand a bit on the level meant here?

    December 1, 2013

    • Jim F.

:)> I'd love to see the gents in tuxedos, but suit and tie is more what I meant.

Thanks for your response, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to wear my tux.

If you didn't notice, I found out inadvertently, you need to pay your $45 + $1.50 = $46.50 upfront if you would like to attend.

I've been to the College Club of Boston before ( I believe they have a new executive chef). Perhaps you can suggest the appropriate attire.
