"April in Paris" high end food/wine tasting at L'Espalier!

"April in Paris". The pulse quickens, one's thoughts turn to the chestnuts in blosom along the Seine, the toy boats in the pond at Luxembourg gardens, the scent of flowers in the air, dewy-eyed lovers walking through the Tuileries. 

As we head into Spring, what could be better then indulging in the "April in Paris" food/wine pairing at the apex of French cuisine in Boston, L'Espalier! 

Although expensive by any standard, in context, Wine Mondays is a true bargain. 5-course tasting menu, tasting portions of food paired with a different wine for each course, served in one of the top restaurants in Boston.

Note, this is a fixed menu -- no substitutions -- we are putting our faith in the chef and sommelier. It most certainly will NOT be vegetarian. I will post details when available, but check their web site for sample menus.

You will be responsible for tax and tip at the restaurant. Expect $100+ / person total.

Refund Policy

Note change! The restaurant has asked for 48 hrs final count. I will issue a full refund up to 48 hours before the event. After that time, no refund. Please do not book if you are not sure that you can attend.

L'Espalier has to be on every Boston foodie's bucket list. The awards and accolades for chef/owner Frank McClelland's temple of fine French cuisine and superb wine is really too long to list. Elegant, impeccable service, flawless presentation, top notch wine cellar.

Wine Mondays offer the best of all worlds; a selection of wines inspired by the changing seasons, wine regions or varietals, paired with a five-course tasting menu composed by Chef McClelland. With menus and pairings ranging from the classical to the adventurous, guests at Wine Mondays are often the first to taste a dish that ultimately shows up on L’Espalier’s Prix Fixe menu.

We will be seated to foster lively conversation, while sommelier Lauren Collins leads an informal talk about the wines and food pairings.

    That was nice, wasn't it? I think the theme last night was "Subtlety" -- in the food flavors, the wine pairings, the room, the service. Refined, elegant, attentive. It was a pleasure seeing everyone dressed up yet relaxed and clearly enjoying themselves. I neglected to get a copy of the menu, so please post if you have it. Photos too. I liked the rose we started with, the fish course w/Alsace Riesling, the maigret du canard + rolled crepe stuffed with confit (maybe?) and 2006 Bordeaux what-ya-me-call-it (nice berry, tobacco, cinnamon, smooth tanins). Wonderful time.

    We are ready! I have paid the restaurant, so I won't be able to issue refunds at this point. Each of us is responsible for tax and tip $22. I will get there about 6:30; it starts at 7pm, so please be on time. Great food and drink in store!

    Hi everyone. Reminder, we are 2 days from the refund cut off date and end of yes RSVPs. If your plans have changed, please update your RSVP asap so I can issue a refund and others get a chance at the spot. After Sat. 7pm, no refunds.

    If you are on the wait list, but can't attend, please change your RSVP to NO so I can see how many are really waiting--sometimes I have time to contact you directly after RSVPs have shut down, so I need an accurate list.

    Looking forward to an amazing event. I will post the menu as soon as I get it from the restaurant. Remember -- we are dressing for this one. :-)

    30 signed up!? This is going to be amazing!! Remember, check the refund policy. L'Espalier will be holding me to the headcount as of next Sat. night, 4/26, so I cannot give refunds after that time. I want to see you all, but if you're plans change, please change RSVP ASAP so I can refund and others can grab the spot. And remember--we are dressing for this one ;-)
